A November feeling
"Outside the June sun is blazing, however inside it is dark and sombre, and
Sting's sorrowful "Fragile" resounds. Around 40 young men and women are singing.
And yet the refrain sounds like just a quiet breath. It is melancholy and
Novemberish in the Eisfabrik in Hanover's Südstadt.
But it all started so summery: The young Hanoverian Concert Choir clazz opened
the program […] with such upbeat songs as "Blame it on the Boogie" and
"Good Vibrations".
Then the high point: "Ride like the Wind" by Christopher Cross
as a fast tempo a cappella version. It is a small vocal firework display:
imaginative and multifaceted.
[…] the performance of the choir, which is well-known beyond Hanover for its
versatility, has charm and supplies a few original surprises [..]"

Journey from classic to jazz
"The 50 members of the concert choir "clazz" are rehearsing for their new
program, which enjoyed its premiere yesterday. Tonight residents of the Südstadt
can go and see for themselves the ability of the Young Concert Choir Hannover
in a concert in the Eisfabrik.
[…] "The clazz Files - dramatic choir theatre" is the name of the music
program which the singers are offering their audiences this year. […]
That the young singers - with an average age of 25 - display their acting
talents is not a novelty. Two years ago clazz performed Oscar Wilde's fairy
tale "The Birthday of the Infantin" as a play. In 2005 the choir presented

Melancholic tones create a special atmosphere
"Of faith and despair" is the name of the current program presented last Saturday
evening by the young concert choir clazz. With this theme they succeeded in
filling the church with beautiful voices and a unique atmosphere:
contemplative, calm and meditative, but also quite thrilling" |

prizes and the chance to represent the state at the nation-wide competition in
Kiel on 20-28 May 2006 went to the following choirs: […] including the jazz
choir clazz - Young Concert Choir Hannover under the leadership of Thomas
Posth. […]" |

Audience delighted with 'Romeo and Juliet'
"[...] This concert was successful in every respect. And this applies both
to the choice of the songs and the musical performance. Choirmaster Thomas
Posth showed that his many-faceted choir is rhythmically sound and in good
form with a polished choral sound.[...]" |

Sparkling highlights in the church

soloists were able to give the works sparkle.[...]" |

"It began with the a-capella motet[...] "Unser Leben ist ein Schatten"
(We must vanish like a shadow). Thomas Posth presented the motet [...] at a steady pace,
through which beautiful piano intonations came and the coloratura sparkled easily.[...]
The voices had a good timbre and produced a lovely, clear sound. [...] " |
Deister-Leine-Zeitung (22.02.2005) |
[...] The Requiem KV626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was performed
perfectly. The young artists of "clazz" together with the orchestra presented the shock
images of the Day of Judgement splendidly. [...] It was more than understandable that the
performance [...] led the audience to applaud wildly and give standing ovations." |

„The choir with 15 female and 13 male singers scintillated with a
cheerful atmosphere...“
„...the singers again and again succeeded in fascinating the audience.“
„The well-known song "Let the Sunshine in" from the musical "Hair", or
other popular oldies like "On the sunny side of the street", "Good
vibrations", "Walking on sunshine" and "Follow the sun" to name just a
few, increased the audience's good mood. This resulted in the
enthusiastic audience's demanding two encores after the finely-sung
evening song "Der Mond ist aufgegangen".“
